BMPS format 2024
The Battlegrounds Mobile India Pro Series (BMPS) 2024 follows an intricate and competitive format designed to test the mettle of participating teams through various stages. The tournament kicks off with the League Stage, which spans from August 20th to September 18th, 2024, and features a total of 128 teams competing in Squad TPP mode. The League Stage is divided into three main rounds and culminates in the Semi-Finals, leading up to the Grand Finals.
Round 1 takes place from August 20th to September 5th. The 128 teams are split into two groups, Red and Blue, with each group further divided into four sub-groups consisting of 16 teams each. Over 16 matchdays, each group plays six matches per week, with Group Blue playing on the first four days and again for four days starting from August 29th. After the first week, the groups are reshuffled to maintain competitive balance. At the end of Round 1, the top 64 teams from the overall standings advance to Round 2.
Round 2, scheduled for September 7th to 10th, narrows the competition to 64 teams, spread across four groups of 16 teams each. Over four matchdays, each team competes in six matches. The top 48 teams from the overall standings move on to Round 3.
Round 3 runs from September 11th to 14th, where the 48 remaining teams are divided into three groups of 16 teams each. The groups are reshuffled after two days to ensure a diverse range of matchups. Each team plays a total of eight matches, and by the end of this round, the top 24 teams advance to the Semi-Finals.
The Semi-Finals occur from September 15th to 18th, featuring 24 teams divided into three groups of eight teams each. The teams compete in a double round-robin format, with each team playing a total of 16 matches (four per day). The top 16 teams from the overall standings qualify for the prestigious Grand Finals.
The Grand Finals are set to take place from September 27th to 29th, 2024, in Kochi, India. The 16 teams that have emerged from the intense competition will battle it out over three matchdays, with 18 matches in total (six each day), to determine the champion of the BMPS 2024.
